"Bush has been our first neoconservative president — eager for war in the Mideast, indifferent to social issues, reconciled to the growth of federal power, unconcerned about federal spending. He is barely to the right of Kerry, except perhaps on same-sex marriage.
What would they really have to debate about? To borrow Bill Buckley’s great line, it would be like the Smith Brothers debating on cough drops." ---------------------------------------------
That about sums it up! Maybe Kerry would be good because a Repub house and Senate would fight him all the time instead of rolling over to Bush who has betrayed us on near about every issue...

The last four paragraphs say it all. Not a pretty picture. We've become a nation of sheep-like spoiled children.

Sobran writes, "...Republicans are already scrambling through his record looking for damaging statements, but they aren’t coming up with much..." Huh? Is he saying that all those contradictory phrases were uttered by someone else? and, "...So naturally there isn’t much to choose between a Bush and a Kerry...." Well, maybe - in the context of the subject of his article. But in a myriad of OTHER issues, the differences are wide. The more I see about Kerry - regardless of any disagreements I have with Bush - the more I am inclined to vote "anybody but KERRY". And there's only one way to accomplish that now. -FreeMe

That article was penned back in Feb. Even I have posted some of Kerry's remarks that have come out in the open of late.
Still, as long as governmemt keeps getting bigger and the masses are complacent with "Bread and Circus'" we have lost the control our founding father bequethed us with. I am old enough to remember how it once was, we are a long way downhill from there, but not many notice as long as they have their TV and video games!

All that this Republican administration has to do is divide the Democratic voters and it will be a solid land slid victory for Bush. A good 3rd party candidate (not Nader) and it would be a super duper land slide victory for Bush. And that's the God's honest truth!
