How many bullets should a person carry and still be within the boundaries of common sense? Five. While I know some folks just don't like carrying without a reload, that there are reasons other than capacity to carry a spare magazine and that one's magazines may simply just hold 13rds, I agree that if you actually "need" 26rds in a self defense situation, odds are good that you're doing something wrong. What are you doing wrong? Travis ...there was a link here on a page of why a cop carries over 100....it was him and one bad guy and the cop almost ran out of ammo Um, someone needs more than 'certification' practice, IYAM...

Often overlooked reason for carrying a spare magazine in addition to more ammo is in case of malfunction, mag change may be most efficient way to clear.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time.
I think I've forgotten this before.
