For my eyes the meopro binos were not that good. I have a pair of meostar non hd that I picked up used and are great binos. I also recently bought a pair of swaro slc 8x32 used.
I say all that to say that unless you have to have new, much better optics can be bought for about the same money as marginal quality lower end stuff. I searched for used binos and have a lot less invested than one pair of new high end binos.
The warranty will cover you on used if you buy from the higher end companies.
Each to there own tho

I spent the summer comparing my Zen ED2 8X43 and Minox BD 10X44 BP to the Nikon 10X42 and 12X50 SE, Leupold McKinley 8X42, Kowa Genesis 8.5X44, and EL 10X42 SV. The ED2 was very impressive even in that company. I actually preferred them to the Kowa and Leupold. I ended up buying the SV, but that's a whole different level of expenditure.
