Folks out among the Bears seldom worry about dogs in the same area.

Meaningless number. I'd venture that most people in the US will never see a bear outside of a zoo in their lifetime.

Whereas some of us will come into contact with them rather frequently, maybe right around the corner from their house.

In the hills where I hang out it would be likely to encounter a bear than a dog.
Do recall a few years back Gov. Rick Perry of Texas used his handgun on a dog though?
The question is for us gun loonies, will we need a different handgun for a pitbull vs. a yorkie?
How about a pack of yorkies? oh my, I may need more handguns!
Woohoo smile

I"ve dropped many a dog with Stingers from a .22lr rifle, and no I am not talking about brain hits.i used to live near a place where people dumped one almost daily. Unless it's a rabid St Bernard, you don't need anything more vs dogs than you'd use on men.
