The suppression of individual liberties and a strong centralized government accompanied by the aquisition and retention of power by a ruling "class" . Ruling by government edict instead of the consent of the populace, and enforced through fear of punishment and under duress.
The supression and abandonement of judeo-christian values as the underpinning of a constitutional government.
An unholy alliance between government and big business and the suppression of free market capitalism.
Of course there is the confiscation of property through a tax system designed to prevent the accumulation of wealth and redistribute property to the non producers under the flawed notion of " fairness", again enforced under duress.
The Progressive movement is communism in disguise. An archaic brutal and failed philosophy proven unworkable countless times and advanced by coke heads and intellectual flunkies who could not hack the responsibilities nor demands of a truly free society.

Back in the '30's I understand the Communist Party of the United States tried to re-brand themselves as "Progressives". When they went belly up, all those commie members went somewhere. I rather think it wasn't into the GOP.
