Join Safari Club International and Protect Your Way of Life

October 2014

Teddy Roosevelt is quoted as saying, "Every man owes a portion of his time and his income to the business or industry in which he earns his living." The same can be applied to all hunters. If you are a hunter it is your duty to support and give time back into the sport we love. We owe our time and resources to ensure that our sport will continue not only in our lifetime but for future generations to enjoy.

As hunters, we face countless attacks on our livelihood from anti-hunters, non-scientific political policy and environmental factors that look to change the hunting lifestyle. Hunters and conservationists must band together to fight these adversities to protect our hunting heritage.

One of the best ways to band together as a group of outdoorsmen to support our lifestyle is to join Safari Club International. Even if you never plan to go on a safari, SCI is an important organization that supports hunting rights in the United States and around the world.

Since 2000, SCI has spent $140 million to protect the freedom to hunt through policy

advocacy, litigation and education for state legislators to ensure hunting is protected for future generations. Through direct involvement and partnerships with like-minded organizations, SCI has become a political force in Washington, D.C., as well as other world capitals.

Through the SCI Foundation $50 million dollars has been spent on wildlife conservation, wildlife education, and humanitarian services around the world. SCI Foundation has sponsored many research programs in the United States, including black bear research and many predator-prey studies.

By joining SCI, new members are connected with nearly 50,000 like-minded hunter/conservationists who believe in presenting hunting in a positive light to the non-hunting community. By practicing ethical hunting as well as participating in humanitarian efforts around the globe, people can be educated about the positive impact hunting has on game populations and local economies. Local chapters focus on projects in their areas such as Sportsmen Against Hunger and wildlife habitat restoration to name a few. With chapters in all 50 states it is easy to get connected and participate.

SCI is one of the most powerful pro-hunting and pro-conservation organizations in the world, and works tirelessly on behalf of hunters. Members stay involved with state legislative and regulatory issues; with federal plans that affect management, conservation, and hunting access on public lands; as well as national legislative issues. There is strength in numbers, and SCI would not be able to produce results without supporters like you- united in the same fight. For $65, you can become an SCI Member and join like your way of life depends on it.

Join SCI today and be part of an organization that is committed to protecting hunters and the wildlife we love. Your membership will help ensure hunting rights and opportunities for future generations. Join like your way of life depends on it because it does. There are countless attacks on our way of life and SCI will continue to be the voice for hunters around the world.

Funding for SCI's efforts comes primarily from their Annual Hunters' Convention, the

Ultimate Hunters' Market. Next year's 43rd Annual Hunters' Convention will have every possible hunting expedition, safari, fishing excursion, and fine firearm on display for sportsmen and women of every interest level. Six continents of adventure and wonder are under one roof at SCI's Annual Hunters' Convention. There are dozens of informative and educational seminars designed to provide attendees the opportunity to learn new hunting techniques or refine old ones on countless topics that appeal to the hunting sportsman.

The 2015 Convention runs from February 4-7 at the Mandalay Bay Resort & Convention Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Pre-registration discounts are available now!
