11/24/14 Jackson County. Would've been a good 8, but two tines on one side obviously broken off.

Sad thing was, I left my 99 at home and took my 270 WSM due to the weather. Guess the 99 will have to get bloody another year.

Edit: sorry pic isn't loading - check the link

Good job Steve! Iron County buck kill down 50% from last year's low numbers.
I passed on spike on Sunday which may have been mistake but you never know? Youngest brother killed 4 pointer with his 99 in 300. Older brother SHOULD have been using his 300 Savage as he winged 6 pointer with this s.s. barreled plastic stocked bolt action thing... Deer lives on!
Last Friday I tested ice for fishing and only 1 1/2" where I was standing so decided to wait. On Sunday while watching Packers win, we watched ice LEAVE the lake!

Shot this buck today. Since we had been talking .33 WCF a little while ago I thought it would be appropriate.

I wrote up a little about my season and rifle on a Winchester forum and you can read and see more pics here if interested:

Thanks guys. You know, the three of us probably don't hunt that far from each other the way the crow flies. Good luck if you are still hunting Bruce.

I had no luck. I actually saw very few deer, and nothing wit antlers of any kind. Not even spikes! So the .375 didn't even have a chance.
On the other hand, my brother Dan took a decent 2.5 year old 8 point with a 99A Saddlegun in .250 that I picked up from diamondjim. That was the only deer shot by out gang this year.

Brian,
Sorry about your hunt, but glad to hear the saddle gun was successful. Regretted that sale, so I did just replace it....
finally. grin

I love to see .33's in the field. First Doug's M71 and now this one. Great job!
