What would cause a deers' urine to be brown? I found this in a few different areas I hunted today and have never seen it before. It snowed two days ago so it's not that old. Could it be a doe coming into heat late?

Damn Does are chewing Skoal again! Seriously, I've always thought that it is the tail end of their estrus cycle.

those deer that didn't get breed in the first go around will probably cycle again a month later and this year's yearling does might have a late start, too.

I can't help you if I don't know what it tastes like.

I can't help you if I do, but that's beside the point.

It's often caused by stress. They could be being chased by the bucks, maybe dogs, or hunters. Human urine will often be dark the same way after periods of physical stress.
