Merry Xmas everyone,I found a G at the LGS. This gun is in great shape except the rear sight was lost when then Lyman tang was put on. Serial is 3030xx with the 303 barrel numbered to the gun,as well as the stock. Can you guys tell me if this gun is worth 900 bucks, any comments good or bad are appreciated, if it matters the barrel is 22 long. Thanks for your help!

Look into your wallet and then decide how you will feel next week if you go home without it. But then ..... I have overpaid for many guns over the years. BillR

900 bucks ? it would have to have lots of condition for me. worth it if it is.. good ones are far less common. the better they are, the fewer there are.
plab
Gotta love them 303's

One of the best shooting 99s iv let get away was a worn G with the 22" barrel, in 303 nice and light shot spot on too! is the Lyman tang sight adjustable left to right? if so, that helps the value too! if the rifles in very good con.price not to bad. but thats just me.
Deer Camp! about as good as it gets!

I think you should send photos to Sav 1899 and Calhoun. I think they got a good pulse on the value deal. I would buy it because it aint a stinkin R. LOL

The gun should have a 22" barrel with that serial number. Made after 27.
At 900 it needs to be in very high original condition.
No extra holes or sand paper.

I'd put one of my R's up at 100 or 200 yds anyday against anything in 303 Sav.

Perhaps the R was not offered in 303 (the flagship caliber) because it was unworthy? LOL

I do not know how we got from the G to the R but I have an R and an RS. I like em myself but I do not have a G and thats what peaked my interest in this gun. My only hesitation is that it would be my fourth or fifth 303. The condition is around 90 percent, maybe I can do a little tradin. Thanks to everyone for your input.

If it's a 90% G then you did good on the price.
I've seen some crazy's pay that on hybrid rats on GB.
