On the pro chrono does it require it to be set in direct sun light or can it be set in the shade to measure bullet speed. Reason I'm asking is cause at my range we have a covered shooting area and if I set this chrono out in front of the table it is shaded will it still read. Thanks for any info

Mine reads great as long as I have the white plastic covers over the eyes.
It reads fine shady, sunny, cloudy or I between.

Mine reads reads in shade, sun, and cloudy weather however the reading I get are different, on a cloudy day with no sun coming through the clouds it will read about 50 fps slower, it reads more consistant on bright sunny days.

This has been my experience also.

I've had better luck with mine in the shade.

If it's too bright out it may not read.

Mine reads fine in the bright sun or shade. Mine only quits reading when the sun goes below the horizon. Pretty much the instant the sun dips below the horizon it quits reading.

I've had the same happen with mine, but I was shooting little 40gr 223 bullets. Larger bullets (.358, .308, etc) worked fine.

That is what I was hoping for cause the covered area where we shoot shades the area out in front of it so I hoped it would read
