So I just got a couple boxes of 100 gr Ballistic Tips to load in my 1899 250-3000. Its got a new 22" barrel with 1-10 twist. Im about to start loading em up and am looking for some good loads you all may have already proven out.
Ive been running searches on here but am having a heck of a time finding a few of the threads where I have seen this covered.

If you`ve a manual, most any powder will do. 4320 is a good start.

Yep, any of the medium burn-rate powders like 4320, RL-15, 4064, Varget, etc. are worth a try. I've loaded for a number of .250's and have often found either of the 4895's to produce good results, especially in 99's, because they burn very consistently at any load density from 60% of maximum on up. Accurate 2495 also often works very well, because it's basically their version of 4895.

A cartridge not hard to load for. I've used 4895 on the fast end and H4831 worked well in a Model '54 250-3000. It's really not hard to find a load that pleases your rifle. Bolt or lever gun? Back off a little for a lever and work up to max in a bolt rifle. powdr

Nosler's accuracy load with H4895 has worked extremely well for me.

Reloader-15 worked very well for me with 100 gr bullets. With a 1/10 twist don't ignore the heavier Hornady 117 gr SST or round nose bullets using H-4831sc.

Thanks guys. Yeah I have a handful of manuals but only the nosler data has this bullet and it doesnt show a few of the powders I know Ive seen mentioned.

Ive loaded for this gun for years but have only used the 100gr H. Interlock and the 90gr HPBT Gameking. IMR 4895 and H4350 have been better than IMR 3031 with the 100 grainers for me. Matter of fact I had almost had a case head blown off with 3031 at what Lyman and Hodgdon both said was a middle of the road load! 30.5grains on once fired brass. Its why I like to get as much info as I can when switching components.

I want to try H4895 and maybe one of the new IMR powders when I find it on a shelf. Mr Mule Deer would you start with 4166 or 4451?

Mathman do you get the same velocity as Nosler in your rifle? Close? Thatd be sweet!

I've had excellent luck with 4166 in at least 8 rounds now, and suspect it would do very well in the .250. Haven't had a chance to try 4451 yet.

I'm getting that or maybe a little bit more out of a 24" barreled Rem. 700 Classic.

Doc Encore, what kind of velocity do you see with the 117s in your 250? At what C.O.L? With my rifle, made 1916, if I load pointy bullets at 2.515 I get loading issues some of the time. I been wanting to try it tho. For one thing the SSTs are almost always available at the local hardware store and Ive searched high and low for some of the others at times.

I have loaded for two .250 Savages and ended up using the same charge of 39gn H4350 (AR2209 over here). It gave higher velocity than loads with Varget in both rifles with good accuracy. The rebarreled Model 54 had a 26" barrel when I bought it but I had it chopped to 24" and my Ruger Ultralight has a 20" barrel. The 100gn Ballistic Tips were 'hard' in the little Ruger rifle (about 2680 fps) and would quite often zip right through medium sized pigs and they would run from 40-100 metres before falling over. I have twice shot two pigs with one 100gn Ballistic Tip as the bullet zipped through the first one to hit another behind. I have changed to the 100gn Hornady Interlock and this bullet opens up much quicker and drops pigs and feral goats much quicker. I always recall this when I hear about Ballistic Tips being too soft. The 100gn Ballistic Tip has performed better in my .257 Roberts (22"/3100fps) and a mate's .25-06 (24") at higher muzzle velocities.

Thats very interesting to hear Elvis. One of the very reasons I am trying the BTs is that I had thought the 100gr Interlocks were acting a lil harder than I was hoping. lol So who knows, in a couple years I may be switching back, or trying something else. Who knows.
They ALL kill deer tho!

I am loading the Hornady 117 round nose to the cannelure and the Hornady 117 SST to Hornady's OAL in their loading manual for the sST bullet. The 117 gr SST is a long bullet compressing the powder charge using 40.0 of H-4831sc.

I have not chrono'd the loads....doubt I will.

37gr RL15 (higher than book loads) gets 3003fps in my 24" Rem 700 Classic. In the 20" barrel of the Dakota, it would be lower, but haven't clocked it. Very good accuracy in both. I use that load for 87gr Hot-cores in the old 99 with good results and long brass life. (Nosler lists 36gr max with their 85s.) Just under 3100fps for those. I think 34-35gr behind the 100s would be safe in the 99, but proceed with caution, as always.

Mine is a 1909 Peruvian and I use 34.4 grains of H4895. Haven't chronoed it, but it kills them dead. 100 grain BT.

Wow, Butch! Beautiful rifle!

I use 36.5gr of Big Game under either a 100gr Hornady Interlock or the Ballistic tip. I switched from the BT to the Interlock based on the cost of bullets. I get virtually the same accuracy and performance from both bullets, so why not use the cheaper ones? My rifles are both bolt guns.
