I have both the .223 and 7.62x39 Cz 527 Carbines. Great, handy little carry rifles.

I bought the modified bolt handle for both, from Cz USA. These handles allow quite a bit lower scope mounting.

I owned the 527 for a while and I did a bunch of work to it but ended up selling it.
- I hated the protruding magazine so I replaced the mag and bottom metal
- bolt handle hit the scope so I had to buy new bolt handle
- accuracy wasn't good enough so I removed the scope and used only iron sights
- way to expensive for a limited use rifle

A more versatile gun and less expensive is a Rossi 92 in 357 mag. Sure they're different but both are iron sight carbines.

The newer production CZ Carbines now come with a modified bolt handle to allow easier scope clearance from the factory. That makes it a bit easier on the consumer. Both of mine were 2015 production if that helps anyone out there looking right now.

Mine didn't come with rings but some do. It's totally random! And the rings are expensive.

I sold off all my spare parts and eventually sold the rifle. I liked the weight of the gun and the size and feel of the stock but the function of it left me disappointed. I ended up getting a Ruger 77/357 which I like a lot better. Mind you its not perfect either but for this class of gun I like it a lot better. The only work I did to it was replace the rear sight and a trigger spring kit. It's probably my favorite rifle.

It really is random! I bought two...one had rings the other had none. I put Warne quick detach rings on the 7.62x39 chambered rifle, just in case I wanted to use the iron sights sometime.
