OP Pappy348 Campfire Ranger Joined: Nov 2013 Posts: 28,689 West of the Blue Ridge	I'm considering a Leupold VX-R 1.25-4 or 2-7 for my .45/70 No. 1. Leupold suggests high rings, which seems odd to me. I want the scope mounted as low as possible. Anyone running a 30mm tube on a No.1? What fresh Hell is this?

I can't imagine that even with the bigger tube, a 33mm objective wouldn't clear. I actually got to put my hands on a VX-R 1.25-4 with the lighted German #4 at a LGS yesterday. Pretty nice, and looks like the hot setup for running shots, if I ever decide to try one. What fresh Hell is this?
