This thread prompted me to rummage through my powder. I turned up 2 pounds of R7 I had bought for load development but never found a load I liked. It didn't take me long to start filling empty brass with it. Half a dozen text groups later and I have a "new" load on my keeper list, and all my 7.62x39 brass has been loaded, but I am now down to ONE pound of R7!

Never ending effort to maintain KISS principal. Decided to solidify all loads using just one powder for three different cartridges. Meant going to 120 Prohunters for the 260. Jury still out on performance but not accuracy. Super consistant. Thinking seating depth matters more than anything now.

I tend to have my go to powders, which is inclusive of: Varget, H4895, H4350, H110, Titegroup, and HP-38.
However, I do enjoy experimenting though, which is why I have 16 (that I can think of) other powders on hand. Most of these are single pounds that I picked up while getting my regular powders. I have found loads with most of these that certain firearms like. It makes it nice have extra loads that perform well in a firearm, in case powders become hard to find. Having a broad perspective on types of powders has allowed versatility and has allowed me to keep shooting without much issue!

The cartridges i load for
.45 lc
.243 win.
.260rem
7x57
.300 win mag
8x57
unique for the colt and reduced loads
I could very easily get by with Reloder 17 or one of the other powders in the 4350 class to load all the rest. But what fun would that be....
I have powders left over from other guns that have moved on and need to burn it up.
All told maybe 20 different powders on hand.... too many but somehow not enuff.........

Okie John 22-250, 243, 6mm, 250-3000, 257 R, 25-06, 6.5 X 55, 270, 270Wby, 7-30, 7 x 57, 7-08,7 Rem Mg, 7 Dakota, 30-30, 308, 30-06, 300 Win mg, 300 Wby, 338 Win. 375 H&H, 416 Rem mg, 45-70. In some cases more than one rifle.

We don't really need all the powders...but it is nice to have all the choices..
We also don't need all the carterages out there..
I only uses 5 or 6 on a regular basis...and it pretty much covers everything..
