A 1900's vintage colt bisley saa in 38wcf. He eventually let me do it at dusk one day. The fireball and recoil scared the socks off of me, which probably was the idea. I still have that revolver that many years after his death i took the grips off and found an inscription about it killing a grizz bear. It was also used prior to him getting it in killing a man in prescott. I finally came across a buckeye special blackhawk in 38wcf, but was missing the 10mm cyclinder. Ruger was kind enough to fit one and serial number it to the revolver. I get a kick out of the 40s&w, which is nothing more than the 38wcf. mighty fine grips on the revolver by the way. It's great on deer and antelope. In this case, however, I'll have to modify what DocRocket said about the 686 and apply it to the L500, and for the reasons listed, go with the Linebaugh. The rationale for my answer is always the same... a big blade can be made to do little knife work but not vice versa. So it is the same for one handgun for me. I'd take the most accurate, compact and lightweight SA or DA in .45 Colt that I could find. A SAA sized gun would suit me just fine
