Buddy acquired a very nice bolt action rifle some time back from an Uncle at a near freebie price. Problem is he is left handed and it is a right handed rifle. He wants to keep it and have a stock made.

Anybody know who would make such a thing at a Boyd's(maybe $250) kind of price?

GunGeezer, You've got the answer right in your post. Boyd offers what they call a "left hand, right hand action stock". I know they offer it in the "Classic" line, and I think quite a few more models. It is simply a RH stock with the cheekpiece on the right side instead of the left. Good bit cheaper than $250 too. The price for a Rem. 700 stock like this in walnut or laminate is $102.
If you will post the particulars of your buddies rifle, I'll give you the Boyd's part# for it.

I have an Old Fajen on a Husqvarna Mauser in 270.. 50s vintage..

Never saw the need for one.

High cheek piece on a right hand rifle with much recoil can be painful to a left hand shooter.
A classic RH stock has never been a problem shooting LH.

As a LH shooter of RH rifles- Exactly what 700LH said.
