The moving of Forrest's grave would be akin to grave robbing or desecration. The city of Memphis can't do it at will, it would have to be court approved and hopefully it could be ran up to the TN supreme court level and stopped. The law SAKO75 cited should also give firm legal basis.

I'd agree with the person that said ship Memphis to L.A. except I would continue west about another 1000 miles and drop it in the middle of the Pacific. It's city government, like most where a certain demographic have an overwhelming majority, is a pit of corruption where everyone has their hands in the cookie jar. It used to be mostly ran by the Ford family who stole everything they could get their hands on, I think most of them are in Federal prison right now but they'll be back. If Wharton is a better mayor that what's been there previously it's only because the bar is so low. You could argue that Nero was a better emperor than Caligula also.
