You want to sell .Gov anything? Then you must adopt gun control "certifications" for dealers.

Phuggin Fascist bastages.

Ruger will rule the world if that happens. They will publically refuse the government's overtures and make it part of their advertising campaign. And if they don't someone else will.

Ask Colt how well relying on government contracts works. Ask Smith and Wesson how well getting on board with government gun control works.

Mao-Mart once held a shotgun I was purchasing beyond the max must sell waiting period. This was interrupting my window for goose hunting.

Although they should have released the gun, they took it upon themselves to hold it until the fed check was verified.

Now, I just don't give them ANY business.

Yep. And that lesson would be well remembered for ALL of 'em.

Which means them feddies won't be gettin' any new firearms - since those manufactures will be tellin' the gov't to go pizz up a rope..

I don't buy it. All of em sell out. The gov buys way more guns than we do. Ruger won't because .gov doesn't buy rugers anyway.

Not even close, much more civilian sales. Companies prefer .gov to civilians, but have to sell on the civilian market to make ends meet. We really need to push for subsidies for gun companies so they do not have to lower themselves to the act of selling to the civilian sector they look down upon just like their preferred mil/let clients do.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2012/12/19/seven-facts-about-the-u-s-gun-industry/

"2. While private citizens still make up the bulk of gun purchases, the industry is also heavily reliant on sales to government agencies.

Back in the late 1990s, the gun industry was actually facing decline, as the economy was humming along and crime fears were subsiding. Then Sept. 11 hit. Thanks to new counter-terrorism measures, law enforcement agencies and the U.S. military started buying up weapons at a faster pace, reviving the industry. Today, government agencies make up 40 percent of industry revenues:"

Typical schitt..

They make this stuff up without knowing how the Real World works.

Gun Manufacturers sell to gun distributors, who in turn sell to retail outlets. Ruger refuses to deal direct with dealers.Perhaps some others do too. Those who are willing to deal direct, at least in my experience, door a really poor job of filling orders.
Distributors do a good job of it.....I don't think they will be up for A) Giving up the way they do business or B) Screening dealers for'certifiability'...

Gun manufacturers prefer selling direct to LE/MIL no matter the size of the order.
