Yes, I have a very nice Universal Vulcan Model 440 I purchased used at a gun show in the mid-to-late 1980's. I've only seen one or two other Vulcans at gun shows since then, and they weren't in very good condition.
Years ago I started collecting .44 Magnum carbines, mainly because they were affordable and my favorite cartridge to reload.
I've probably fired my Vulcan 50 to 100 times with factory ammo and reloads. Bullet weights ranging from 180 to 300 grains.
Every bullet weight shot five-shot groups at fifty yards I could cover with a quarter. (Provided I used five nickels instead of one quarter!)
The Vulcan won't win any beauty or shooting contests, but they are unique and rare. I'm glad I found it and it followed me home, many years ago.
I came close to buying one years ago but went with the Ruger Deer Stalker 44 instead. The Vulcan were to cheap looking and ugly to be seen in the woods with one.
A Doe walks out of the woods today and says, that is the last time I'm going to do that for Two Bucks.
