Just checking to see if those two combinations will fit without too much "custom work". Thanks

MKIIs and Hawkeyes are interchangable. Tang Safetys are not.

The latest model of the Hawkeye synthetic stock is very rigid, nicely checkered and has a good pad on it. It is a little heavy. If you can't find a boat paddle, that one is a good, affordable option. If Ruger has some still in stock, it's much cheaper to buy direct from them than from Midway of Brownells, just a little slow.
I bought one for my Hawkeye Predator, but found it was just as heavy as the plywood one so sold it to TJH.
What fresh Hell is this?

Ok thanks fellas. I have bought two Hawkeye synthetics recently at around $55 apiece, so they are definitely a bargain. So if a boat paddle becomes available I know now I can snap it up.

Custom work comes if its the Tang model. Otherwise in good shape. I "customized" one for a tang 308 and it was a LOT of work. A lot more than I would have done had I known ahead of time.

Murph, Thanks for that. Janet, who recently retired from Ruger CS was a gem for looking stuff up. She alerted me that the factory had no boat paddles anymore. I recently put a synthetic on a new African with some floor plate lock-up work to do with the bow release. The synthetic Hawkeye was an easy fit for a gray laminated .270 this week. With a little but of 3 screw tampering, the floor plate and release button are "happy".

Nice. I cerakoted the 308 tang in a dessert tan. It looks really cool but made the tolerances really tough as well as my "hack" job custom work to make it fit in the boat paddle. The laminate seems a better option unless your just wanting really light weight. I loved both boat paddles I had and do like this one too but not the best for accuracy and the recoil is killer.

Get a limb saver recoil pad. I think it is a 110 model. Fits perfect.
