I have seen locally unique, 231, and some other pistol powders over the last year or so, including accurate. But the prices are up from a few years ago.
I like to be energy independent, which means 8lb kegs of the stuff.
I found varget last year at bruno's, he had never put it on his web page, but he had it.

Pictures soon, it is not here yet. It is Ruger Blackhawk, blued with 5 1/2 inch Barrel. I had a little trouble finding one but Davidson's emailed me they got two in and I called Wild Bill's in Molalla. He gave be a great deal on it, $508 including background check, and I bought it over the phone. I have my OR CCP so no waiting. Soon as he calls me and tells me it is in I will go grab it. Brass and mould on the way from Midway, powder coating powder from powder By The Pound coming too.

Don't know how hot you can load it, but Green Dot is listed as good for 45 Colt, factory level loads. Might be worth a try if you can't find anything else. I bought 1# for loading 20 ga, but after finding out how cheap light 20ga sell for, looked around for what else Green Dot would be useful for. I think Lyman manual has data.

Went back to where I saw around twenty cans of H4227 and the shelf was empty.

Check cabelas online- thought I saw unique available in both 1 and 8lb bottles in stock.

Come to Q, next year, and I'll donate a pound or two of Unique.
9.5 gr under a 270 RCBS bullet = 950 fps and great accuracy out of my 4 5/8" Bowen-tuned Blackhawk.

The plan is for my wife and I to drive to Q next year now that we have a car that will make it.

The three around here do not have any in stock. I am still looking and widening the search as well as the powders that will work.

Any muzzle loaders nearby?

A cartridge full of goex works well in the 45colt.

Sportsman's and Cabelas had that... plus most of the BiMart stores have that also....
