Are the Black Forge guns ok for an occasional shooter. It won't get any accessories or be used for anything but a family-fun gun.

This fellow seems to think so. http://www.wideopenspaces.com/10-best-ars-money/AR's seem to be pretty low in price right now. Shop around a bit-- unless it's local and a really good deal.

no reason other than you hear more about PSA.
a lot of opinions just as others have said many don't actually shoot the guns that much. If I actually needed a new gun I would save my money and find a used colt or get one of the OEM Colts. Why one gun is $500 and another is $1000 is a mystery until you figure it out.
