Using a strain of herpes to attack invasive carp in Australia. While it could work out really, really well... it might not. In a statement released May 1, Australian Department of Agriculture and Water Resources (DAWR) officials described their National Carp Control Plan, which will be developed over the next two and a half years at a cost of approximately AU$15 million (about US$11.2 million) and potentially deployed by 2018.
Research by the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation (CSIRO) has already determined that the virus kills European carp quickly, and that it does not develop in native fish, in other introduced fish species or in other animals — including humans.

oh, we're in uncharted waters. but nothing new here. we've been in the same stream of thought for ages.
invasive exotic species, despite all the propaganda to the contrary is winning the game at this point. whether we'll be able to adapt quickly enough and soon enough remains to be seen. but at least we're beginning to scratch the surface. and thank goodness for that small benefit.\

If it gets rid of carp I am all for it, if it works we can get a bottle of something similar and jam it down the throats of the greens and their ilk.
It is worth a try.
