i did that to a wrestler from UT back in the 80s when a couple of buddy's and i got into a fight with 4 of them over a pool game at a nightclub in Alice TX, on of my buddy's was a green beret, nam vet it didn't go well for them. one of them had my buddy Allen on the ground and was biting his finger, when i kicked that guy in the head it stripped the meat off Allen finger. good times.

The Nut kick pissed him off and gave him the gumption to finish the job.

There's some luck involved in a knockout with a front thrust kick to the face. All the planets have to be aligned for that to happen. Yeah, he needs the skill to properly execute it, and to time it right and all, but lots of luck, too.
