NVhntr,

Is ABS more rigid than CPVC ?
I have had CPVC sag if the supports were very far apart.

Seems the rage for a while was to use it for everything, but over time some problems show up.

Someone mentioned freezing. Pex will expand instead of breaking but the fittings won't. If a copper elbow freezes, it's going to break.

Stuff like Sharkbite is great for a small job when you don't have a crimper but it'll bankrupt you to use it for an entire job.

speedsix... you wouldn't use cpvc for drains....

Rock- um there are more than copper IE brass fittings out there, there are actually pex fittings for pex pipe, solves that problem... they've been around for a couple years at least that I've seen the pex fittings down here.

rost495,

My bad. That actually was PVC in the drain.
I used some CPVC for water lines, and no complaints, except that it will freeze and break.

Any time a Plumber builds a house for himself, he installs copper. He doesn't put any under the slab. He also insulates it well.
