I'm not trying to "get" anybody on anything.
But day care is about $13K a year. Depending.
Apartments average about the same for the year. Depending.
Health insurance is usually... what? $5K a year?
Gasoline and Cheerios ain't exactly free. Nor is clothing, cars, beer, or light bulbs.
So somewhere down the line, math has to be math and I've yet to meet a working stiff "single mom" that isn't getting help from somebody, somewhere.
Tax funded or not.
If your daughter is the exception, kudos to her.
Dave
Daycare is free when you have a caring family. Whether you are married or not. Kids get passed around between Aunts, Uncles, & Grand Parents. Everybody gets a chance with everyone's kids. Around here, renting a snug, secure home in a GOOD neighborhood, with a very large yard for garden and play will/does cost $7K/year plus water/sewer which is not too high but I can't quote it. And why anyone would pay rent still baffles me beacause she could have bought the property for $200/month less than the rent. But in her case, her credit was ruined when her ex failed to pay for or sell the home he kept in the divorce. But that is off point. Clothing comes from various thrift stores and gets handed down. A good portion of the grocery bill can be alleviated with a bit of sweat equity in the garden. And beans are a lot cheaper than t-bones. Beverages come from the kitchen faucet. Life is as expensive as one cares to make it. Those with self respect do for themself as much as they possibly can. Loser trash sit on their ass and wait for .gov handouts, while expecting a lifestyle equal to that of an accredited Medical Doctor.

I'm not saying a single mom can't raise a good kid. And sometimes good parents with solid homes and good incomes produce bad people. Just ask my parents. I'm living proof.
But 8 out of 10 of these kghunts aren't "single moms" in the traditional sense of the word. You'll meet some that are paid $2K (often times more) a month by a guy that wants nothing more than to see his kids more often. But he can't because the court relegated him to "every other weekend" or "summer's only."
Not only do these mothers have men begging to help, they go out of their way, to keep them away.
In this country a "single mom" gets free college. How many people here knew that? They get financial aid for child care. How many people here knew that? They get EBT cards. They get free housing. That's on TOP of your tax dollars being used to locate the dad, prove he's the dad, garnish wages from the dad...
This isn't Laqueesha down in Englewood I'm talking about either. These are your fugking neighbors. These are you kid's teachers. These are the chicks you fugked last week after finding her on plenty of fish.com.
And to all of you that have some personal sob story I have some news for you. NOBODY GIVES A FUGK.
It's not an accomplishment any more than taking a shower or paying your fugking bills on time. It's just WTF you're supposed to do.
Dave holy fugg deflave for once I totally agree with every single word in one of your post hows the mouthwash company and to add a snippet when I was a detailed slave army recruiter from 99-01 I actually heard mom coaching a prego teen daughter (her brother joined the army)to not name the dad on the birth certificate and say she didn't know who it was (geuss she explain it away a drunk night choo-choo train got run on her to a social worker) so she could get max welfare and the state could not go after the baby daddy and then they could shack up in a section 8 trailer and daddy work and they make big coin from it all just kept my mouth shut.... seen probably 7-8 birth certificates with fathers name UNK for unknown in the 3 yrs I was in maine compound this by what factor nationwide........................ In all your years of service (which you manage to include in every post, like a bitch seeking accolades), did anybody take the fugking time to teach you anything about sentence structure? Or spelling? Or anything relating to grammar? At all? Dave ya I know proper sentence structure and English chit if I want anymore lessons I will rattle my zipper as a signal for ya to come running hither and im sure you can articulate/gag some chit about it while my nads are resting on your chin massive band width space oh did I tell you also I was in the army for 24yrs 5 months and 9 days???

Jimy: Well "since when" is since when YOU let guilt ridden and mentally troubled liberals begin making laws and political decisions for you - and since when YOU have allowed it to become morally and financially "O.K." and an easy lifestyle for so many to spit out welfare litters generation after generation! That's "since when"! IF... this rewarding single moms bothers you then I would change your voting/electing habits. And do so PRONTO! I know I did not vote for any liberal, guilt ridden, socialists/communists over the last 50 years - so I think MAYBE you probably had something to do with that happening so often? Elections have consequences and we are now, as a society/country, suffering those consequences! And this just you liberals wait until the Chi-coms (Chinese Communists) won't loan the liberal politicians here in America any more funny money! Jimy (is that pronounced jai-mee or the more traditional "jih-mee")?), I fear for the future of this country. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy

Dave Travis, just cause you asked so politely. My kids all take turns watching all their kids. The situation was: my two daughters lived next door to each other, my son, his wife, & three kids were 1/2 block away. Momma and I are ten minutes down the road. Daughter #1 was single w/ two girls. Daughter #2 was a stay at home Mom of three. Daughter #1 hustled girls over to Daughter #2's house at 5:30 AM and went to work. Son dropped his 2 older girls off with Daughter #2. Daughter #2 got all the kids ready and drove them to school. Daughter #1 got off work in time to be home and pick up ALL the kids from school. Then she would baby sit in the evening until Son came home from work. The two daughters usually combined efforts for dinner and fed their combined families. Momma and I are/were always available to fill in if someone came up short. None of our kids or Grand kids ever spent a day in daycare..... until daughter #2 started working in a daycare and took her youngest, a three year old boy to work with her. Daughter #1 got remarried three years ago and is a lady of leisure. 'Cause that money ain't gonna spend itself, ya know. She and her husband now pay more in Fed Tax/year than her gross income for any ten year period in her entire previous life. Oh, and here is the whole bunch about four years ago when things were most hectic.

I love when threads come along like this and remind me who the dumbfuqks are. Sometimes I forget.
I probably hit more elk with a pickup than you have with a rifle. I have yet to see anyone claim Leupold has never had to fix an optic. I know I have sent a few back. 2 MK 6s, a VX-6, and 3 VX-111s.

Oh, and here is the whole bunch about four years ago when things were most hectic. Almost like in the late 70's early 80's when my mom formed a loose coop with friends and family. It was all centered around people working. No cash ever changed hands, just agreements enforced by good will. It worked well and, I guess, never occurred to anyone that funded childcare was a better (much less easier) answer. I'm sure they were hard times, yet I never remember them being that bad. Now its just; gimee, gimeee, gimmeeee. My only regret in life is we only had two kids.
