Matt Holiday had not played for weeks. Broken thumb.
Lost his option today. Came out to pitch hit for maybe the last time.
The Cardinal fans gave him a long and loud standing ovation.
He stood at the plate with tears in his eyes.
And hit a home run.

Good to know. He is married to the grand daughter of the landowner where we hunt whitetails up in the TX Panhandle. He's a great guy, very modest.

There is a video floating around of a Matt Holliday workout where he is playing around with 90 pound dumbbells.
Benching them for reps and making it look easy.
