I got another small six point this morning. Shot was 257 yards on the Leica Rangefinder. He came out and i could see he had horns and I had no idea how many point or size. I was wanting some more back-strap and took the shot, he went maybe 15 yards and piled up. Rifle was my own build. Left Hand 700 6mm-06 , 53 gr's IMR 4831 and the Barnes 80 gr TTSX both lungs were Jello with complete pass through.

Nice ones. My neighbor popped a nice 8 at 278 with a 100gr ttsx from a .25/06 the other day. DRT from a shoulder shot.
Don't know if overpenetration was a problem.😜

Nice! And probably added satisfaction with a tool of your own creation!

The 24 cal has always been my favorite for Whitetail Deer. Usually the 6mm Remington

I have killed more deer with the 6mm than all others combined from 223 to 30-06. Kills just as well as the bigger stuff.
Been contemplating another 6, either another 6 Remmy or 6-06. Be a long action regardless.
