On 1 side: Jesus said (paraphrased): "Whatever you do to help these people, you're doing for me." We're commanded to help those in need and there's no question that many of the refugees are in need.
On the other side: They aren't being brought here for humanitarian reasons. It's all politics. The people need help but money and jobs are being diverted from Americans in need and handed to immigrants. They hope that the immigrants will later vote Democrat. I just read that Obama is taking over $100 mill from HHS programs for Americans to help Mexican illegal immigrants. Our system is being crushed by immigrants, both 'legal' and illegal.
How do we balance Jesus' words with politics? Does Jesus expect us to feed everyone even though it destroys us?

I don't think that's an appropriate scripture for this case. That was written against a specific country, not a general command against everyone outside. There's nothing in the Bible about not allowing anyone into the US. They haven't attacked us. They haven't refused us aid when we needed it.

On the other side: They aren't being brought here for humanitarian reasons. It's all politics. We are called to do good, go the extra mile, and sacrifice, but not commit suicide. The demoncraps have attempted national suicide for far too long. A good immigration policy judicially enforced would put us where we need to be as a country and as Christians, I believe. We just don't have it yet. Until then, we should fight against the foolish policies of the past.
We may know the time Ben Carson lied, but does anyone know the time Hillary Clinton told the truth?

RC, I think you have to differentiate between Obama's "muslim refuges" and the Mexican illegal immigrants. And yes, further differentiate between Mexican illegal and legal immigrants. So lets just start with the with Mexican illegal immigrants. This just seems simple to me. God charges us as Christains to obey and respect the government laws in our country. Just the fact that it's illegal cuts it with me and I won't support them. However, that does not restrict us in any way on mission work or humanitarian financial aid to them in their country. Me, I believe, only in this help if provide on an individual basis or through church organizations. It is not and should not be a function of the US government: 1) to "replace" your help or the church's. 2) due to the politics and miss-use that you see arise from this power.

As used by the demacraps, they are white elephants. http://exciting-english.blogspot.com/2010/05/story-of-white-elephant.html?m=1The Story- One legend associated with Buddha says that the night before his mother gave birth to him, she dreamed of a white (albino) elephant giving her a pure lotus flower. Thus, white elephants have historically been considered sacred in Thailand (which used to be called Siam). All white elephants were therefore the property of the King of Siam. Since they were sacred, white elephants were not allowed to do any work. They had to be well-cared for, and they required a tremendous amount of resources to maintain. All white elephants were given great honor by the people. If the King of Siam was pleased with one of his courtiers, he would give him a white elephant, along with money, land, and servants to take care of it. However, if the King was displeased with one of his courtiers, he would give him a white elephant, with no land or money to help take care of it. The courtier would then be required to care for the sacred white elephant out of his own resources. Since the elephant was sacred, the unfortunate courtier could not even put it to work in order to help earn money for its care. Because of the large amount of money required to care for the elephant, the courtier would soon be financially ruined and dishonored. That is how the phrase "white elephant" came to mean "an unwanted gift."

you only have to live in an area that's been inundated with border jumpers to realize what a bad thing their presence is for this country. this year at new year's eve there were literally 50% fireworks and 50% gunshots in the air. these near me throw all manners of trash down wherever they happen to get through with whatever they're holding. they are fascinated and reverential of the aztecs and the like. (you remember them- the ones that practiced human sacrifice and killed children etc. ?) the ones around me don't practice at being good neighbors, and live like a bunch of animals. they don't want to be Americans, just be here and partake of the milk and honey. by comparison, the hispanic folks i've known and grew up with are some of the finest citizens you could meet. they don't like having these border jumpers here any more than i do. it'd be very different if they wanted to assimilate and learn to be a good neighbor and a good citizen, but that's not what they want. and all manners of disease that we'd all but rid the country of is now being reintroduced by these border jumpers.
i know it's hard to get a good picture of all this if your experience with border jumpers is limited to magazine articles and television news reports. if your formerly nice neighborhood has been run into the ground and turned into a crime infested rat's nest by hordes of border jumpers, you might be able to see clearly the need to rid our former great country of these pests.

I guess living in Idaho you can be conflicted. Move a bit further south and see how you like them. In Nevada they have ruined the education system, expanded the welfare system, driven down wages and increased crime. Maybe we could ship some more of them up your way.
