I agree about the RCBS warranty. I couldn't find a part and contacted them and a few days later it showed up no charge. I started with the jr. then I traded up to the rock chucker. I prefer the rock chucker, its stronger and easier to form different cases.

I shoot some Wildcats and I needed a stronger press. Since they're so cheap I bought 30/06 brass and I'm converting them to 257 Roberts. 30/06 brass is about $.50 each. Whereas the Robert's are about $1.50 each. I told my friends that when you reload there's no such thing as an obsolete cartridge.

Glad to see you're getting into handloading Matt! I think you'll enjoy.

I'm still using the RCBS Rockchucker I bought used in the mid 1980's - 30 years ago. It's been used to load thousands of rounds of rifle & handgun ammo and is in excellent working order.

Go slow, read the manuals. Get a mentor if you can. ENJOY!

Thanks Guy, it's something I've been meaning to start for a long time now. I've got one week left of my deer season then my focus is shifting to picking up gear and books. The plan is to be setup by the end of February and start loading in March.

You can use light(er)weight bullets to double check your scale.....like lighter .243 bullets, it will be close enough.

Buy any additional accessories as you want/need them.

Same kit I stared with, works fine, I upgraded to a Classic Cast press and added an old Lyman Orange Crusher just because I thought it was cool. Kit is all you really need and if you can find a more accurate powder measure I want to know what it is.
