low salt diet/lower blood pressure in most cases. less ringing.eat something really salty and pay attention, within 10min you'll be ringing like crazy.

I have had it since the late 60s, started from driving cleat tractors with no hearing protection and progressed when I was shooting all the time with no hearing protection and working in the farm shop with no hearing protection. I have the constant ringing in my hears. Some days it is louder than others and I have very low blood pressure. I like to have backround music going all the time or just have the TV on just so there is some type of white noise going. Been told by my doctor to live with it. Does not really bother me, just an annoyance that I live with.

Reading this made mine much worse than normal. Just the thought I guess.

Mine showed up about 40 years ago when I stuck my head in an enclosed cargo box and used a sledge to loosen up a joint that was glued to the top of a Land Cruiser. The concussion was painful and a week or so later the ringing was noticed.

Like most folks it never goes away but if you are doing something and not focused on the ringing it isn't a big deal. If you lay down in a quiet room it can get very frustrating until you forget about it.
