Yeah the Colt wound up being my lightweight house/truck gun. Think it weighs a little under 7 lbs, as shown, less scope and ammo. Mil-spec reliability smile

tex, Flave, AH64 are all dead on. At $718 or anywhere near, the 6920 OEM-2 is a no-brainer.

I picked up 3 full Magpul Kryptek Highlander 6920's for $740-750 when they hit their lowest price point I'd seen in the last 10-15 years.

If you watch for sales you can get a really nice quality floating rail system for ~ $150-160, like BCM, Geissele, Troy.

Other accessories, new and used, pop up cheap every now and then, too. Stocks, backup sights, triggers, etc. I picked up 3 Daniel Defense FVG's for $8/ea a little while back.

Slaves get what they need. Free men get what they want.

Rehabilitation is way overrated.

FWIW I think Aero Precision and maybe some others are building an "OEM" style gun like that, where you provide your own furniture & rail.

buying a cheap AR 15 and doing some shooting is never a bad idea to see if you like it and to figure out what accessories you must have.

A 6920 is a gold standard, but don't forget the lighter 6720 (essentially same rifle, just with a skinny barrel).

It is rarely a mistake buying a Colt BTW.

The Tikka T3 in .308 Winchester is the Glock 19 of the rifle world.

(this auction is too high priced, you can find them cheaper)

This is mine, after adding the Troy rail and furniture...
