I have an RCBS that's worked real well for the last 20yrs or so.

I have the RCBS product and am happy with it too.

Thanks for the info. I'm starting to tinker with some of the triggers on my rifles and want to be able to see where I can get them.

Worth the slight cost upgrade for the digital stuff? Or just use the spring cans? Thanks.

Ditto. No need for anything "more".

Well I have used an RCBS for 30+ years. Does everything I need. But, when I went looking for one online everything says it was discontinued. frown

Here is a review. http://www.reloaderaddict.com/best-trigger-pull-gauge-trigger-scale-review/

I agree with all of you. However, it seems everyone now days is looking for fancier and digital. A lot of stuff is highly overrated. Pass me the "keep it simple stupid", please....:

KISS, it is!

Mine was pretty cheap. Some surplus heavy welding rod, a couple appropriate bends in it for trigger on one end, and weights on other.

Took some scrap lead and poured slotted wafers of various (scaled) weights to hang on the rod's lower end to make various increments from 2 to 17 lbs. Not that I need to go to 17- just that I have that many wafers in total weight. And yes, I did once find a rifle that didn't trip the 17!

It is likely the world's bulkiest trigger gauge..... smile. Been working fine for 30 plus years.

Stamped the appropriate weights on wafers and clear-coated with several coats of varnish for contamination protection.

Maybe not dead on- accurate, but good within an ounce or so.

I'd recommend a "real" one, tho.

I have also used the RCBS scale for decades. Midway doesn't have them anymore, but here is a source that I found online that has them, there may be others:

Midway offers their own cheaper Wheeler version, but I have never seen one to compare. I do like the RCBS unit.

The Timney gauge is very similar to the RCBS and works just as well.
