As I recall, the wide Duplex didn't exist in 2002, appearing with the FX series. Was the reticle replaced at some point?

You are correct, my Savage 99 was buried in the back of my safe and I was too lazy to dig it out but when I did I found out my memory is not what it use to be it is a standard duplex.
