Re: Vanguard .250 Savage

Its an easy caliber to love. I have thought more than once of converting a shot out Ruger M77 .22-250 to the .250-3000!
My Dad has killed a pile of deer and coyotes with his aged Savage 99 RS. His has a 2-7x scope on top and is quite handy. I personally have shot some jack rabbits and coyotes with it, but never anything bigger.
His favorite load (largely in deference to the 1-14” twist) is the Sierra 87 grain Varminter on top of H380 going right at 3k fps!

I think see thru were a product of the older generation of hunters that did not want to completely give up their iron sights for these new things called scopes. took my dad years to give up the idea that he somehow still needed open sights, and this thought resonated within the deer camps. Tip off were right there with them too.

Installing the replacement oil filter housing wasn't the key factor in my decision to punt on the purchase of that vehicle, it was the thousands of oil starved starts that the engine had already had on it. I never worried about the engines failing in any of the 4.0, 4.7, 5.2. or 5.9 Jeep Cherokees and Grand Cherokees that we've owned, but I did worry about the potential for failure of the 3.6. The 4.0 straight 6 was a great engine as long as you did the routine/scheduled maintenance.

How in the heck do these protestor cretins have time? Exactly. They're gender studies/poli-sci students getting extra credit from their commie course instructors.

Re: 17hmr good for coyotes?

17 HMR is NOT a coyote gun.
Can you kill them with one? Sure.
Should you? Probably not based on years of lack of performance on them. I never let one walk just because I had my 17 with me. It works and pretty good when shots are properly placed. Do I grab it when I am for sure coyote hunting?? Nope. I have better mousetraps but when a target of opportunity arises and I have the 17 I don't pass up the fun. Most critters aren't nearly as tough as some believe. This. I kill coyotes because they are pests. I personally do not care if I recover the animal. Not the best round, but always gets the job done. I usually see them dead later in the day when the tractor gets to wherever they were running. Coyotes eat our microsprinklers in the fields. Fugg everything up. Easily cost me $10,000 a year in repairs and labor.

How in the heck do these protestor cretins have time? Exactly, how many are non-student Antifa instigators that needed an excuse to get out of their parents’ basement? But if you look at a lot of the pics, there does not appear to be “depth” to the crowds. There is open space behind them.

I had an organ transplant years ago and lost a bunch of weight in the process.
They prescribed me marinol (kind of a round rubber pill) as an appetite stimulant and YES it makes you want to eat. No unwanted side effects and no feeling of being high, but i took it as prescribed. Thanks for the tidbit

Tim Conrad was the funniest of all. He was great on the Wild, Wild, West playing Artemus Gordon. Hope you're joking. That was Robert Conrad. If you're not joking, then apparently a lot of people can't tell any difference between various people with the last name Conrad....

slum, never took marinol, but had zero appetite during and and after radiation for cancer.
This may sound crazy but have you tried a Denny's Grand Slam type meal?
Lots of protein with the eggs and bacon, and some carbohydrates to help you gain weight with the pancakes.

Re: College Protests

The anti-Semitic protest on campuses across the country have been the top story for days. I’m a bit agnostic about the whole thing. Hamas is evil, so are the over abundance of liberal Jews in our government and country. Seems to me that the Israelis are a bit indiscriminate in their killing, but the hostages haven’t been returned yet, have they? In the end, what is being created is a lot more generational hate.
Anyway, this post is about the protests. I’m generally not too big on protesters because they are anarchist, liberal pukes. Question though, this has been at the top of the news for days. Has anyone seen big pictures (as in wide-angle) that show the scale of protests or the number of protesters? Everything I am seeing is pretty close up and it looks like dozens, not hundreds or thousands of them. Just wondering if this is the media making a story by making a mountain out of a mole hill. And if it isn’t inflating an agenda. I've had the same thoughts. The MSM and 'those' heavily involved in it have near endless money. They can and have carried out large scale propaganda campaigns for decades. NEVER will I ever trust anything they say or do because it's always against conservative Americans. If they need dead bodies they'll make some.
