That's funny.

I was hunting two years ago with a sponsored hunt. We had a decoy set in an open field and several toms firing off around us before daylight.

A jake came into the field at breaking daylight, and started in to the set. But, two dominant toms followed him into the field, and jake was pushed away from us over the line of sight of a small hill.

The caller was set up just behind us within 20 feet, and working his magic hard. The two toms stayed in the field for quite a bit, but wouldn't commit to the decoy set. They eventually moved back into the woods, and we followed.

The caller stayed in position, and continued to work the slates, and we belly-crawled down to the wood line.

About 10 minutes after we left, the caller heard something behind him. Turns to look, and the jake is about 10 feet away at half-strut on him....
