True, but it's getting closer. Beto coming so close got the Dems all revved up, that was someone of a special case in that Cruz hasn't ever really knocked it out of the park on the campaign trail. But Texas is getting more than 2,000 people a week move in from other states (not counting illegal immigration), most of those are from the west coast and the north east and are moving to urban areas. As the state gets more urbanized over the next decade or two it runs the risk of becoming like California where a few large metro areas wag the dog.
