Ha! I recovered a miss once.
My brother took a poke at a nice buck with an 1100 wearing a Weaver Qwik Point sight. He was so sure of the shot he could almost taste the backstraps. Buck and his harem took off. We walked to where he'd been standing, right past a finger-sized sapling that the slug had cut off. The oak tree that was behind the buck had a neat plug knocked out of the bark, right down to the wood. I looked down, and there was the Remington Foster slug, nicely mushroomed, laying on the ground.
Funny now, but he was pissed.
I still have that Qwik Point. Gonna mount it someday. Very sharp dot and no batteries required.
