I just found my digital caliper and measured both barrel thickness' at the muzzle.
My 35 Whelen Ruger Hawkeye, SS/syn, 22" barrel measures .5630".
My 30-06 Ruger Hawkeye Ultra Light, SS/syn, 20" barrel measures .5040".
Smaller contour on the Ultra Light, hence the lighter barrel and lighter rifle.
I suspect with rings and the scope of my choice (Leupold VX3i 2.5-8), it should bring it up from 6 1/2 lbs. to 7lbs. even.
I have not yet mounted a scope on this Ultra Light yet, so I cannot give you a definitive weight.
