I was on a long distance drive today doin gunshops and sporting goods stores when I came across what I consider an excellent deal on a mint perfect "red pad" Ruger #1-B in 270 Winchester!
I mean there was NOT a blemish anywhere on this Rifle from the muzzle to the pad and even the 8 ring screws were NOT "buggered" at all.
I ended up buying a Smith & Wesson Model 686 (no dash!) with 8 3/8" barrel and if "I" were not travelling this weekend to a distant gunshow I would have bought that Ruger #1-B also, myself!
The "asking" price is $1,099.00 (no sales tax in Montana!) I should have asked if the Rifle might have the original carton with it but didn't.
Not sure if this Rifle is on consignment or owned by the store.
My bad not confirming those things.
Anyway anyone interested in a minty red pad #1-B in 270 - this one would be HARD to beat.
The buttstock is VERY pleasing with even ribbons of black streaks through the chestnut color.
This vintage of Ruger #1-B had/has the satin (not gloss like the original #1's!) finish/varnish - and again is VERY pleasing to my eye.
This gun was NOT in this shop early last week so I am not sure how many days it has been on the shelf?
The folks at this shop I am sure would provide photos - the number is 406-682-4210 Monday through Saturday.
Hold into the wind
