Very nice! Does the gun still deliver the same accuracy as it did with the longer barrel? Could the original front sight be used again on the shorter barrel? Somewhere on the www I read about that the shorter gun might need a higher front sight. Did you make the job yourself or was it done by a gun smith?

I can't answer for MM, but I can tell you my experience in cutting down Ruger's. Typically you will need a higher front sight with the .44 magnums. Back in the day we probably got 3 of those jobs per month at the shop I worked at. It's amazing how long Ruger went before they made a short barrel .44 magnum.


Accuracy didn't suffer at all. Same front sight put back on. I had it done by a gunsmith in San Marcos CA, back in the day when I was at Camp Pendleton.
