Typically you will need a higher front sight with the .44 magnums. Back in the day we probably got 3 of those jobs per month at the shop I worked at. It's amazing how long Ruger went before they made a short barrel .44 magnum. Accuracy didn't suffer at all. Same front sight put back on. I had it done by a gunsmith in San Marcos CA, back in the day when I was at Camp Pendleton.
