I have a couple of Marlin 982S rifles that I leave at our place in CO, so that I have a truck gun to take along when we go Jeeping. I think that they are pretty accurate and would expect a Marlin in 22 LR with the T-9000 trigger to be pretty accurate right out of the box. If you want a really nice trigger on a tube-feed 22, you need to find yourself a Remington 582. I have 1 and it has a great trigger and it has real locking lugs, not just a bolt handle.

Marlin now sells 4-shot magazines for their magazine fed bolt action rimfires, so the magazine no longer sticks down too far like the old 7-shot magazines did. I like the tube-fed 22s, but with a DM, you can keep the magazine loaded and in your shirt pocket and still get on your target pretty quickly.
