I learned about ringtails when I first took my then 8 year old son outside Del Rio for his 1st Texas hunt. He was just ready to step into our ground blind when I caught my first glimpse of one inside the blind and ready to give my son a most rude intro. I grabbed my kid by his collar and yanked his little butt about a foot off the ground trying to get out of that animal's way.

Had no idea what it was till I spoke about it dinner. The rings around their tails should have given me my first clue,I guess.

I hear they can be mean little bishes.

The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.
