And even with practice, sprinting games in front of the hounds are hard to properly hit.

Practicing (not mentioning the lack of training facilities), you shoot the target always at the same range, keeping its heading and speed, on flat ground with the same perpandicular trajectory, protected from weather conditions ... which never occurs in real hunting.
