I'd skip the motorguide if it were me and go with the same from Minnkota. The quality comparison side by side is pretty easy to spot.

It's pretty tough to find a motorguide around here.

As far as an 80#'er, that will push you along great and being 24v, should give you a full day, or nearly so, of fishing.

I agree with T, tough to beat a Minnkota.... I have just a 74 pound 24v on the front of my boat and a 70 pound 24v on the back and have yet to run out of juice on a day of fishing.

T- you been fishing 'eyes much yet?

I've been out almost every weekend on local lakes. Last weekend I hit the Chippewa Flowage, but didn't fare well there. It was weird, it's a wonderful lake, full of walleyes, but it was cold and I couldn't get em to eat. We did however, catch some crappies that wereas big as some walleyes. They made the trip home. smile

I've had both Minnkotas and Motor Guides and the Minnkotas are just plain better.

I expect not to on almost everything. The only thing I remember getting a rebate on was boxes of Hevi-shot turkey loads from Remington.

Anybody here ever fished the Whitefish Chain? We've got a family vacation over the 4th of July and I'm planning on breaking off from the group for a couple solo fishing runs over that way. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Walleye, muskie, or maybe bass.

Off to the lake after some delicious (yuck) trout.

Just wondering if any one of the lakes in the chain is any better than the others, any spots? Sure not gonna try it over the weekend-everyone that owns a boat will be on the water. I'm thinking mid week.

Ryan-how did you pull out the middle seat? Was it riveted to the floor, and if so, how'd you fill the holes from the rivets? Possibly considering this conversion with my 14 Ft. Lund if I decide to hang on to it.
