Has anyone else tried one of these? i picked one up yesterday in 1.5-6x42 30mm tube #4 reticle. AMAZING!. i am guessing its made on the same line as the Super Sniper scope which shares the 30mm tube and 42 obj lens. adjustamnts were positive, color rendition perfect, light gathering was much better than a LR VX3. and for $189 the only fault is the word tasco on the side. but, after shooting it atop one of my 308 steyrs id have to say im past that. great scope great price.

I have one of the 1.25-4.5x30mm Titans on a .375 H&H.
It cost me $102.00 delivered on a closeout.
It is a small notch below a Swaro, and way above a Leupold.

When I posted about it several years ago, a few tried them on .416s and .404s, took them on safari, came back and bought another one.

These original Titans were $600.00 scopes, made in Japan at the Hakko factory.

There were some recent scope using the Titan label, but not in this class of glass. In the late 1990s, Tasco also had the 30mm tube Euroclass. I kick myself for not buying one of these in 4x or 6x42.

I bought the same one you have on your .375.
Installed it on my AR10 because I wanted the 30mm tube, but couldn't afford 'high-end' glass.
It turned out to be an excellent choice!
I can shoot with both eyes open on the lowest magnification, which is what I was after, and the 4A reticle is outstanding.

ONLY ONE QUESTION: Are these scopes 'nitrogen purged'???

The Titans are basically a re-release of the older World Class Plus scopes.

I have one. It's a tank, but it's built like one and is optically superb.

I have no qualms about abusing the schit out of it, and no problems with it failing when subjected to such.

These are not the Trashco of legend, that's for sure, and a very underrated and under-the-radar scope, IMHO.

I have a 1.5-6 Euroclass on my .30-06. It is super tough and very bright. I believe I could shoot by moonlight with it.

I bought one of the 1.5x6's quite a few years ago and I paid a lot more than $100 for it. I think that scope has been on every center fire I have owned. It is definately not of the Trashco ilk.
It currently resides on a lightweight 45/70 owned by a friends son. If it can survive that brute it will take anything

is the euroclass the one that came in the BLK and Gold box that said "riflescope" on the top?

I have 4 of the Japanese made Titan variables-2 are 1.5 to 6 and two are 3x9. I also have one of the 6x42 Euroclass. Heavy, but really tough. Optics are first class with the variable reticals on the first optical plane. Oh, I picked them up at a bankruptcy sale.

Anyone have this information?

Also, I'm wondering if the Stoney Point Target Turrets would work.
It says these scope have finger adjustments, but mine has the coin slots.
( yes, I want a 'tactical' look! <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> )

yes they are nitrogen purged. the stoney points probably wont work since the turrets are larger diameter.
whats the euroscope worth in comparison to the titan? i found one for $100 in a 6x42. same lens coating, same tube diameter.

The 6x42 Euroclass I looked at in Indiana in 1996 was $300 back then.

Just looked on the bottom of the scope --- NITROGEN GAS VALVE.
Cool. <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />

I have several Titans and have used them on calibers from .300 Savage to 9.3 X 62 and have been very pleased. They are clear, rugged, gather light well, and hold zero while travelling.

For the money, these are great! I think that Tasco should have rebranded these, much like Toyota did with Lexus. These are the Lexus of their line. Not related in anyway to the Wallmart scopes. Top notch.

I am always on the lookout for the 30mm Tasco scopes, they are gems. I first happened on these scope in the mid '90s, when Cheaper Than Dirt or someplace similar had them on closeout, a 3-12x52 was about $80 and I bought 1, when I tried it out I immediately bought 2 more. I still have 2 of these and love them.

The first ones I am aware of were the Euro-Class scopes, I have these in three different variants, a 4x44mm, 3-9x44mm, and 3-12x52mm. Theses are made in Japan, and so marked on the bottom of the main tube near the eyepeice. All of the ones I've seen are a semi-gloss finish.

Next came the Euroscpe, also a 30mm scope, but these are made in China, and so marked. I have two of these in 1.5-6x. These are not as good optically as the Japanese made Euro-Class, but are very rugged scopes. I have one on a Marlin 45-70 that gets fed some pretty stout loads, no problems with the scope and no shift in POI. Thes Chinese scopes are recognizable by not having a "collar" for the adjustment housings, the adjustment turrets just come directly out of the main tube.

Most recent are the Titans. These came in 30mm and 1 inch varieties. The 1 inch scopes are basically rebadged World Class scopes, steer clear of these. The 30mm scopes are jewels. I only have one, a 1.25-4.5x. I have also seen a 1.5-6x and it is distinctly different than the 1.5-6x Euroscope. These (30mm) Titans are made in Japan and so marked.

Lexus is a Toyota product line, built in its own small factories, almost totally by robotics. The early 300 ES models shared the Camry platform. Some of the recent entry-level Lexus models shared the styling with the Toyota Avalon, but were totally different cars (rear wheel drive, bigger engine, etc).

Lexus today has 6 factories. I developed some machinery for the Tahara plant (LS 430).

The RX 330 SUV is produced at a new plant in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada.

Tasco Titan was built by the Japanese contract manufacturer, Hakko Optic, which builds high-end microscopes and cameras and other things for brands like Nikon.
