Is there a new kind of scope mount for a s&w model 57 .I had one and lost it was huge side plate .My older eyes are not great with iron sites unless its glow dots !

I have an Ironsighter #430 base that replaces the rear sight, doesn't (IIRC) need extra holes to be d&t, on a S&W 25 that I like pretty well.

I think I recall that sideplate mount...that was a LONG time ago and have not seen them in years...that said I am not sure how well it would stand up to .41 Magnum recoil.
If you have an older 57 the only secure way to attach a scope is by having the topstrap D&T just like Smiths come from the factory today. They are available in Brownells I believe...just need a decent smith to do the work...
I have a 70s vintage 57 8 3/8" with a Leupold base and 2-6 Bushnell scope...it is a great shooter...

Yep I like SW model 57 and the 41 mag .I lost that side mount it was butt ugly and didn't seem strong.I want to use this gun in the tbickets .I am going to mount a side holster on my treestand .I have used this gun forever but never shot a deer with it .

I think SW has a mount that's is a weaver base one piece but its custom shop only .
