I have been tossing around a 760/7600 to match my 750, but have been wondering, where are the sling studs on these rifles?

They are wherever you put them.

Uncle Mikes sells a package of them for the 760/7600 you install your self. If you know how to use a drill and a screwdriver, it takes about 10 minutes.

I always check the used rack for nice pumps. Unfortunately, almost all I see have been rode hard and put away wet.

Very nice rifle. I'm jealous.

Brace yourself, though. It won't be long before some azz comes on here and tells you that windage adjustable mount won't work!

They work. I never trusted them. Each to their own. Hunt safe, hunt hard. Dave

They are an under appreciated rifle. The iron sighted '06' I had would put three into 2 inches at 200 yds.
I'm currently playing with an older model in .257 Bob. Again, iron sights. After trying several loads, none went over three inches for four rounds at 100, and some were in the 1.5 MOA range.
One of the reasons why the Benoits have used them for many years is because they work under tough conditions, unlike the Remington 740/742's. E

i've owned multiple calibers of every rem pump over the years. all have been shooters even with their typical stiff triggers. i found a factory 7600 carbine in 35 whelen a few years ago and splurged on a match trigger for it. it is literally a one-holer.

Nice rifle! The 760 are greatly under appreciated and are accurate. Had an old 760 marked 244. With 80 gr bullets it would make nickel and dime size groups. Killed several deer, hogs and coyotes with it. Made several good memories with the old rifle. Thanks for the post and pictures.

I just bought a 760 in 6mm today from the widow of a family friend. Can't wait to try it out.

Not so. There are lots of .30-06 and .270, a nice .243 will bring over $1K at PA auctions. A 6mm a few hundred more than that.

Thanks Tom. And also, thanks for the knowledge on these rifles. I've since been doing some research and I think I've scored somewhat of a gem, thanks to you.

My uncle has been shooting a 760/6mm since at least the late 70's. ~4-5yrs ago the scope crapped out on him. I usually have a spare 3-9x40 Vari-X II Leupold so mounted it for him. Same blue box 100's that the OP mentioned worked for him, work exceptionally well in my uncle's rifle too. Right at 2" 200yd 3-shot groups. I was very surprised at the accuracy. I sold an awful lot of 7600's, 6's, and 760's during my college gun-shop employment but I'd never really spent any time shooting one. I was sort of expecting the rifle to be one of those that you sort of have to guess about POI because the groups are horrible and it's difficult to know what adjustments to make. I couldn't have been more wrong. From initial bore-sight it took 3 shots to get POA/POI lined up where I thought I wanted it. Moved to the 200yds target and had a dead-on POA/POI. Confirmed w/2 more 3-shot groups over the course of the afternoon between shooting other things and called it good.

One reason is because they have free floating barrels. They are known for accuracy among the folks that use them. That's why in .308 they were the very first sniper rifles chosen by the FBI.
