I'm thinking of ordering a Mannlicher stock from Great American Gunstock Company. I don't want to get burned. Does anyone have any experience with these folks? Thanks in advance...Bill.

You'll probably hear both good and bad about them, I know I have. FWIW, over the years I've used 5 or 6 stocks from them and was pretty much satisfied with all of them. They are not "drop ins".

-1 from Craigsters experience. I won't list the details, but it was most unpleasant. YMMV.

I'm with Karnis. I bought one from GAG and will not make that mistake again. Most anybody else would be a better choice, in my opinion. I like Gunstocks Inc.

i bought a semi inletted 2 piece for a Marlin 444 takedown. they had a promo goint that they would give you a free upgrade. the stock was finished w/ 40 layers of oil over a 2 month period in the W texas summer by David Clay or DRC gunsights and David Henry of Henrys collectibles. the stock was a wonderful piece of wood and bordered on exihbition grade wood. my expeience was great and i would deal w/ them again if i had the need.

I bought one stock from them for a rifle I built for a customer of mine. The wood was very good. It needed some minor inletting and the fore-end had to be shaped, but I knew that going in..
I'd do it again.

My son got a rather nice semi-inlet for a Mauser 98. It required a minor amount of fitting, but most semi-inlets do. I have seen a lot of semis, and have never seen a "drop in". For a good fit it must be hand fitted for that last 5%.

I and two very good friends have all had bad, bad experience with this company. If you have other sources, I'd advise using them. Boyds gives excellent service and the quality of their inletting is much better than GAGC. I don't know that Boyds makes the stock you want, but I'd recommend you ask them. They will do some things not listed on their web site. Best of luck. /Emil

My one experience was very bad, ended up costing me money and I had no stock. JMO, but Henry's not a square dealer, look elsewhere.
