I wish our rifle season was open, but not yet. So that puts me maybe up in OK eating a good meal then on to wasting a little money on the machines after spending this evening at the quarter horse races.
Wasting money again.
I feel one good future rifle purchase going down the drain.
But I will have a good meal---------------

It's the wife really that wants to go Sat. We may not make it cause of the horse stuff tonight. She names 200 horse for her boss each year. All of the personal in the horse operation talk to her. Everyone, she's the line people have to get past to talk to the owner. That kind of deal. Millions spent each year on this horse stuff. Me, if she wants to go I go along.After 38 years you do those things.
Of course I did buy a rifle 2 weeks ago and a pistol.

Prolly gonna haul my sore old body back up to area 98 again to try fill my cow tag. Had just tried to fill a general deer tag with no luck. Got up real early, climbed a section of the Southern Wind mts. Came up to the edge of a pine forest overlooking a willow creek. Scanned out with the Minox binocs, then east, then west, and had a really big pair of eyes looking back at me. 2 cow elk standing about 20 yds to my left at the forest edge. Wrong tag, wrong area. That area is a limited draw tag area. I just stood and appreciated how healthy those cows looked. They tired of me quickly and into the creek willows they went. No deer there. I also got a late cow tag for Dubois in Nov. If I don't get an elk there, at least I'll get a nice Christmas tree....

I wish I was going to be in the woods, but I'm planning to be working on a side job for the first half of the day.

When I get off work at 0400, I'll be on the drive home, watching for deer. Been seeing a bunch of them all week, 6 one night, 8 another, 9 on another night, etc.

Then I'll go to bed, we've been working overtime all month and my azz is dragging. I'm already worn out and we haven't even started work yet.

The extra money from the OT pay will go to help the gun fund and for non-res deer tags in MO next month.

Make sure you spook'em and gett'em running first preferably at a good distance. Makes it more sporting. Ya know?

Have fun. Mom used to work at a horse ranch here... that ran horses... Used to be Hoot Owl Hill, I can't even recall some of the good horses names anymore.... tis soemthign like WestWind farms today, still running horses. Its a high cash flow business for high rollers.
